#BTS- The making of Kleinfeld Campaign FALL 2015

Annie Cavallo here, Bridal Stylist and owner of "I Do" STYLE. Being asked to style Kleinfeld’s next campaign was my ultimate “say yes!” moment to date, and with a creative all-star team led by photographer Olivia Malone, I knew it would be fabulous. Here’s a behind the scenes look:

We started with the concept of  ‘the grand entrance’— that feeling everyone gets when they see the bride for the first time. The doors open and she’s standing there. It’s the perfect combination of excitement, beauty and happiness — all capturing the start of the wedding day. With buzzwords like ‘romantic,’ ‘breathtaking,’ ‘dramatic,’ ‘modern’ and ‘whimsical’ in mind, I began to sketch out these words with the Kleinfeld Creative team, turning them into a reality.

We named the sets ‘Floral’ and ‘Modern’ and within these worlds the bride captured a range of emotions through makeup and styling.

The ‘Floral’ world was a dreamy, ethereal set with soft colors, warm lighting, and a little mysterious fog. Fresh florals and sheer tulle drapery set the backdrop for a romantic world that felt both bohemian and sultry. We selected dresses for this scene that were feminine and textural: lace bodices, tulle, pink underlays, floral appliqués and sheer cutouts. The girls wore soft curls and subtle makeup, with just a flush of pink on their cheeks. This fantasy world was topped off with flowers from Patricia Mattingly, who showcased some gorgeous blooms she arranged on set, including a custom flower crown and an oversized bouquet of wild flowers.

The ‘Modern’ world was the total opposite of 'Floral,' and meant to capture the attitudes of brides-to-be who like to make a BIG entrance. This world was made up of cool, bold colors: Kleinfeld purple, pink and white. The theme for this set was FUN, with oversized balloons, confetti and out girls ripping through set paper. The dresses we selected were fashion-forward styles that included asymmetrical necklines, zipper details and loads of sparkle and beading to capture the playful mood. For beauty, we matched the girls' energetic vibes by adding more volume to their hair, a statement lip and a mod cat-eye to finish the look.
